Time to start driving

I've never been very enthusiastic about learning driving for two reasons mainly.
  1. Its costly, cos every cent comes out of my savings.
  2. I don't have anything to drive if i pass.

Perhaps its because my school days are almost over and I don't seem to have much to do this holidays either (not that i'm complaining), so might as well. Driving is something I had intended to pick up; its just a matter of time. So why not now? But i'm still undecided between learning from a private instructor or from a driving school. Anybody has tips? I heard about driving schools offering packages to train you till you pass at a fixed sum. Now how true is that?

自做孽...

Treachery! Since when did my fats started growing around my mid section again? Tmd! N i didn't realize until recently when i put on some of my clothes only to realize they're horribly tight. Damn it. A full inch and perhaps more. How did it happen??? 自做孽,不可活。Just great... as if i needed the extra buldge.

A little help here people. I welcome all slimming tips. Would be great if it targets the mid section. Getting a horde of abdominal and rear fat.

Thoughts...

Why are we so blind to our own faults? Won't it better if we could see them ourselves instead of having others point it out to you? But then again, if you could see your only faults doesn't that mean its already horrendously obvious? Haiz...

I guess the most ironic thing about it is that sometimes we point out the faults of others not realizing that we have the exact same problem. Why?

Finally sent my comp for its much needed checkup after the big hiccup with the WinXP SP2. Had to restore some settings and try to set my automatic updates to the "custom" mode only to realize the entire folder seems to be missing in my computer. Just Great! Now my computer is stuck perpetually in the automatic update mode. So who should I go screaming at now? The Toshiba people? Haiz.

Then comes more bad news:
Service Personnel: Er... I think you better start to backup all your files if you haven't done so.
Me: Why?
Service Personnel: Can you hear the cranking sounds with the hard drive while its starting up? From experience it means your hard drive won't last long.

Sigh. Oh ya. BTW, does any of you happen to have the China production 《铁齿铜牙纪晓岚》episode 2?

My long time companion n buddy. Posted by Hello

Shit. I'm running out of things to blog liao. Actually... my life has been pretty boring but i'm rather satisfied with how things have been going. Sometimes i wonder why i seem so nonchalant about things that happen around me.

Just read KC's blog about how we tend to abuse our families and treat outsiders better. My only guess would be that we take for granted the fact that they're stuck for us forever. So like it or not, u got to live with me. Makes me think about my own family and how selfish i have been towards them sometimes. Times when i could have helped ma with the laundry or cooking yet chose to do something else & also periods when i refused to help my bro and ignore him just to annoy him because he irritated me a while ago. Haha. Quite foolish really but I've come to a conclusion: Nobody messes with my family & gets away with it, except me.
Think it applies to everyone.

Stop trying to mess up my comp

What is it with Microsoft and the updates? Why are there so many updates? Its catastrophic when the updates fail and you attempt to remove the program only to have it crash your comp. Its still working (at least till now) with sporadic attempts to get me to reinstall some basic programs that have gone missing. How the heck did that happen?@!!!

Annoyed.

Bye CCK n Hi Punggol

Paid a short visit to Grandpa's grave at CCK today. The government is reclaiming the area for future developments so the bones would have to be moved, so this is the last time I'll be going there to pay my respects. So i brought along the camera to capture what I could before all these images were gone for good.

I assume those guys at the cemetery would be hacking at his tombstone about 3 or 4am this morning. Wonder why they choose to do it in the wee hours of the morning...The ritual today was meant to inform the dead that we'll be moving his remains to another place. That would be another ritual which would have to be conducted in another 3 days later. Rituals... Don't think i'll be observing much of all these in the future. Two reasons,

  1. I'm not well-informed about them.
  2. Too much of a hassle especially for something that we have no idea if the deceased could actually receive.

Oh well...

I often use this grave as a marker so i know when to turn in & look for my granda's. Its the largest one around that sector. Must have been a really rich person.  Posted by Hello

Mad Ravings in the Wee hours of the morning

Its almost 3am... I should be resting but what am i doing online?? I could hardly keep my eyes open as i type this entry with the music of 三国演义 “孔明出山”blasting away in my ears. I know i know its darn weird that i enjoy those songs... No idea why. HAHA. So dear friends, bear with my idiosyncracies and my ranting.

I really need to sleep yet i don't want to sleep.. If only sleep could just take over me this very second and knock me out.

Sigh. China, those were the good and fun days. Din have to think about results, school or even what to do the next day. Each day was a brand new beginning, a new discovery and of course more sights and sounds of the Orient. We moved around quite a lot during the 11 days there and of course enjoyed the shopping; or rather mixed feelings about it.

My original intention was to head there for the scenic sites with sporadic shopping trips in between. Somehow it felt like we did more shopping than scenic trips. Bro got bored easily and shopping was the main thing that everybody more agreeable upon. So there. But shopping overseas also made me realize that my bargaining skills are terrible. If i were to go there alone i would have ripped off. Just made a trip to my neighbourhood POPULAR bookstore only to realize that i paid like 3 times more for a stamp-pad at Zhouzhuang. -_-" Is there anyway i can brush up my bargaining abilities here? Haiz... Bargaining just doesn't go hand-in-hand with sightseeing. 讨价还价会大杀风景。So people, if you're heading to China, be prepared to bargain or you'll lose out big time.

One more thing i notice about the airports. I was wondering why the locals didn't seem to patronize the cafes there. A cappucinno cost S$12, the service ain't that great and the coffee wasn't marvellous either. Tourism sure brings in a whole load of cash.

Wuxi CCTVset. The entire area was built for filming purposes. Open to public throughout the year though certain areas were cordoned off the areas for filming purposes.  Posted by Hello
