Sigh. China, those were the good and fun days. Din have to think about results, school or even what to do the next day. Each day was a brand new beginning, a new discovery and of course more sights and sounds of the Orient. We moved around quite a lot during the 11 days there and of course enjoyed the shopping; or rather mixed feelings about it.
My original intention was to head there for the scenic sites with sporadic shopping trips in between. Somehow it felt like we did more shopping than scenic trips. Bro got bored easily and shopping was the main thing that everybody more agreeable upon. So there. But shopping overseas also made me realize that my bargaining skills are terrible. If i were to go there alone i would have ripped off. Just made a trip to my neighbourhood POPULAR bookstore only to realize that i paid like 3 times more for a stamp-pad at Zhouzhuang. -_-" Is there anyway i can brush up my bargaining abilities here? Haiz... Bargaining just doesn't go hand-in-hand with sightseeing. 讨价还价会大杀风景。So people, if you're heading to China, be prepared to bargain or you'll lose out big time.
One more thing i notice about the airports. I was wondering why the locals didn't seem to patronize the cafes there. A cappucinno cost S$12, the service ain't that great and the coffee wasn't marvellous either. Tourism sure brings in a whole load of cash.
